Strategy Games Description Language
From Center for Computer Games Research
The Strategy Game Description Game Language (SGDL) is intended to become a complete description of all aspects of strategy games, including rules, parameters, scenarios, maps, and unit types. One of the main envisioned uses of SGDL, in combination with an evolutionary algorithm and appropriate fitness functions, is to allow the generation of complete new strategy games or variations of old ones. The current version is able to express unit types and abilities as well as map tile properties and winning conditions. The current language description can be found here
An editing toolkit along with some example games will be available soon. As this is ongoing work, we highly encourage you to follow this webpage as we will soon make more information and software available.
